Break the Walls

Boîte Noire Gallery and 4 Art Management present: Break the Walls, a solo exhibition by Los Angeles contemporary artist Danny Minnick. Break the Walls is a unique experience designed to break down the barriers of what is commonly considered art in our modern day street and skate culture. On view are the actual walls from his downtown Los Angeles art studio as well as original abstract color works created there.

BIOGRAPHY

Danny Minnick is an American artist most recognized for the brilliant use of vibrant color in his abstract paintings. A self-taught painter, Minnick’s early inspiration came from graffiti and skateboard art. An ardent fan of Modigliani and Keith Haring, the artist’s creative motivation is seen in his unique style of expressionism which includes a clever cast of his very own original characters and imagery. After a successful career as a professional skateboarder, Minnick began painting after a serious leg injury left him unable to ride. The enjoyment and serenity he received by expressing himself with color quickly led to a career as a contemporary artist whose work is now in prominent private and corporate collections. This is his third solo exhibition in Los Angeles.
